Case Study: SmartPly

Project Description:  30' x 20' custom modular

client's comments

"From conception to completion, Nimlok worked closely with us to ensure that our criteria were met. They wanted to fully understand our business to come up with the innovative stand design, which has been extremely well received by our potential clients. Throughout the process they made suggestions to further enhance the message that we wanted to deliver but did not force their opinions on us. We are, overall, extremely happy with the final product."— Peter Clifton, Market Development Manager, SmartPly Europe Ltd

design challenge

To create an open, "Mini Seminar" environment in which a 4 minute presentation on the use of SmartPly could be delivered within an informal setting. Also, developing an imaginative way of displaying the product and a series of images illustrating product application. The custom trade show exhibit also needed to be reconfigurable as it was to go from a 7m x 3.5m 3 sided open site at the NEC, Birmingham (England) to a 8m x 6m island site at the King's Hall, Belfast (Northern Ireland) within a matter of days.

design solution

A partially screened off seminar area defined by two tone flooring and a striking angled canopy, with contemporary Bum Bars complimenting the fresh informal feel of the overall design. The images are mounted on the reverse of flame polished acrylic and suspended in front of an exploded close up of SmartPly printed on a natural linen fabric to create dramatic contrast and depth. The corner of the custom trade show exhibit features combine creative CNC work and powerful up lighting to add dramatic effect. A stunning example of an innovative, highly versatile Nimlok design.
